How Lucy Threw The Ultimate Bowling Party Near Her at Bryan’s!

Nine-year-old Lucy Wayne lived with her parents, Stephanie and Michael, in a quiet, gated community in historic downtown Milford. It was a peaceful neighborhood, perfect for childhood adventures.
Lucy pedaled her bicycle furiously, her school backpack bouncing as she navigated the winding roads toward home. Her mind raced just as fast — this morning, her mother had promised a surprise after school! The anticipation had made the hours crawl by. She had exhausted all possible guesses but still had no clue what awaited her.
As she rode into the courtyard, her eyes landed on two familiar figures stepping out of the house with their arms wide open. “GRANDMA, GRANDPA!” Lucy shrieked joyfully, abandoning her bicycle as she dashed up the stairs, taking them two at a time. Jeffrey and Margaret Kayne laughed as they embraced their granddaughter tightly. Living 25 miles away in Bridgeville, visits were rare but always cherished. Seeing them at her home was an unexpected delight!
Lucy looked up at her grandmother, her eyes sparkling. “Gramma, what a surprise! I’m so happy to see you both!”
Margaret cupped Lucy’s face, her warmth radiating through her touch. “We’re just as happy to see you, sweetheart! How was school?”
“Great! Oh my god! Oh my god!” Lucy giggled, barely able to contain her excitement.
Margaret chuckled and patted her shoulder. “Well, I brought your favorite treat!”
Lucy’s face lit up. “Apple pie!” she guessed excitedly.
Margaret nodded. “Come on, let’s have some.”
As they entered, Stephanie took Lucy’s backpack and smiled. “Sweetheart, we’ll have lunch with Grandma and Grandpa in a bit.” Then, with a mischievous glint in her eye, she added, “Oh, and there’s another surprise for you.”
Lucy gasped, turning to her grandparents. “Another one? What is it?”
Margaret shot Stephanie a playful look before turning back to Lucy. “Patience, my dear. All in good time. But first, pie!”
Lucy’s eyes widened with curiosity. “Like always!”
Margaret grinned. “Like always.”
That evening, the family gathered for a delicious dinner. Michael winked at his daughter. “Now that Grandma and Grandpa are here, I guess you won’t have time for your mom and dad!”
Lucy laughed. “Dad! Come on! I hardly get to see them.”
Michael chuckled. “Just saying.” He then turned to his mother. “Alright, Mom, what’s the big surprise?”
Margaret paused dramatically, then announced, “This weekend, Jeffrey and I have planned a fantastic trip. We’ll leave Friday evening — it’s going to be exciting!”
Lucy gasped, clapping her hands. “Best surprise ever!”
Michael smirked. “I know you two! You always have something up your sleeves. Fine, this is going to be interesting.”
Jeffrey and Margaret grinned. “Great.”
The room filled with laughter, marking the start of a weekend Lucy would never forget.
Friday Evening came sooner than expected, especially for Lucy! She sat in the back seat of the family car, watching unfamiliar streets pass by. Where were Grandma and Grandpa taking her? Anticipation surged within her as their car drove into a huge compound. Lucy stared at the signpost. Bryan’s Bowling Center. She had heard about it in school!
As they stepped inside this family bowling alley, Lucy looked around, taking in every detail and savoring the remarkable sight of vibrant colors, neon lights, and the cheerful voices of excited people crashing the pins! She had always loved bowling but had never been to a place like this! Everything here felt so nice and colorful! She looked at her Granny, her eyes filled with admiration.
Lucy was in a whirlwind of excitement for the rest of the evening. Her parents and grandparents joined the fun, rolling the balls down the bowling lanes with playful competition. Laughter echoed as Michael took countless pictures, capturing every moment of joy. Even Grandma and Grandpa gave it their best shot, making Lucy giggle at their exaggerated victory dances.
Lucy felt like she was on top of the world with every strike, spare, and even the occasional gutter ball. She wished time would slow down so the night would never end.
As they finally wrapped up, Lucy let out a sigh, her face flushed with happiness. “I never want to go home! I just want to keep playing forever!” she exclaimed.
Margaret chuckled, pulling Lucy into a hug. “Well, my dear, there’s always next time.”
Lucy grinned, already looking forward to it. This had been the best surprise ever.
